“The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,” -John 17:22

Discover YOUR Place at OLPH…

  • Children's ECF

Eastern Christian Formation is an essential part of parish life and foundational to a child’s catechism from their earliest years into young adulthood. Currently our programs are seasonally based, but as we continue to grow our ECF program does too! Please consult our monthly calendar for details.

  • Bible Study

The Church calls us to a life of catechesis, a life of growth in Jesus Christ through the Sacraments and personal discovery. There is no graduation from catechism! The process of life-long learning, mystagogy, is paramount to one’s life in Christ. OLPH holds seasonal adult Bible Study courses that integrate Scripture, liturgical theology, and Byzantine Spirituality as a means to synthesize what one experiences in the Eastern Christian Faith. Please consult the monthly calendar for details.

  • A Community of Fellowship

Just as Jesus Christ broke bread with the disciples while breaking open Scripture on the Road to Emmaus [Luke 24:13-32], OLPH offers a wide variety of social activities and community building events associated along side our liturgical life. We always offer coffee, light snacks, and fellowship AFTER services!

Music Ministry

Music is at the heart of the Byzantine Tradition! A purely vocal tradition, the Prostopinije, or Plainchant, of the Carpatho-Ruthenian Recension carries with it an ethereal beauty and a reverent solemnity befitting Divine Worship. From gorgeous hymns, to chanted prayers and blessings, every word of services is sung to melodies steeped in a tradition reaching back into our litrugical and ancestral roots, prayerfully uniting with our forebears.

Whether you are a seasoned musician or just starting out, young or old, the Plainchant of the services has a place for you!

Serving the Holy Table

Service to the Lord by ministering at the Holy Table is without a doubt an honor and a privilege. Encouraging the youth of the parish to serve in such a manner helps to instill reverence, discipline, piety, and a love for the litrugy and for Jesus Christ. This also helps to encourage, foster and support future priestly vocations and a dedication to the Church through lay ministry as well.

Serving at the Holy Table is not limited to young boys, but includes males of any age. While the Byzantine Tradition lacks female altar servers per se, there are still MANY ways in which females can actively participate in service during the litrugy.

If you have any questions about these ancient traditions and practices, or feel that you or your child are feeling called to serve the litrugy, please contact us today!
